New 2023 GMC Sierra EV Redesign, Review, Engine, Rumors

New 2023 GMC Sierra EV Redesign, Review, Engine, Rumors – It is likely to look similar to the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV. The unnamed GMC pickup may adopt the existing Sierra nameplate or might introduce a new moniker. We’re assuming that it will be simply called Sierra EV for now. It will be a pickup truck set that can compete with the Ford F-150 Lightning. It will likely be more affordable and work-focused than the costly, off-road-capable Hummer.

Rumors

GMC’s newest electric vehicle components will be used in the GMC EV truck. It will likely be different from the Chevy Silverado on the outside and interior. Although we are not certain which trims GMC will offer at this time, we believe that the lower models will be better valued than the GMC Hummer EV which can reach into the six-figure range fully loaded. A Denali model with luxury features is almost certain.

Engine

GM’s Ultrium batteries will provide power to the pickup’s electrical motors in a variety of configurations. Standard is a rear-wheel-drive, one-motor setup. All-wheel drive is possible in the form of a two-motor setup with one motor in each of the front and the rear. Higher trim levels of the GMC truck might offer a more powerful three-motor setup similar to the Hummer.

Battery Life, Charging, Range

We don’t know yet what the Ultium battery’s capacity levels will be, but we believe GMC will offer a variety of sizes. Although smaller batteries offer less range, they should still provide more than 200 miles per charge. Although the top-of-the-line battery packs, which can be as large as 200.0 kWh may offer a 400-mile range, we will have to wait until EPA ratings are available to confirm. Fast-charging capabilities will likely be available.
